Gidgegannup Horse & Pony Club's March training day is back for 2025. Whether you're a seasoned rider or just starting your competitive journey, these fun and relaxed days are a great chance to get competition experience in a casual environment.
DRESSAGE - Start time 9.00am

SHOW JUMPING - Start time 8.30am
A range of show jumping heights are offered at this event.
There is no draw for show jumping and riders can jump in any order. Approximate start times will be published on the Thursday prior to the day. Riders are encouraged to check approximate start times and work out the best time to complete both your jumping and XC rounds.
On the day, please keep an ear out for PA announcements and proceed to the marshalling area as soon as possible. Marshalls will check you in prior to warm-up and your rounds.
PLEASE NOTE: Start times are approximate only and the arena may start earlier than the listed time. It is highly recommended that riders present to the marshall as early as possible to register their attendance and intention to jump at the prescribed height.

CROSS COUNTRY - Course open from 9.00am
The course is open from 9.00am until approximately 2.30pm. Riders can present to the start box at any time from 9.00am and ride in any order. Maps are available from the link below or from the office from 8.00am.
Please walk the XC course before riding and click on the button below for the map and safety rules. Riders present at the start box in any order for gear checking. Up to 20 riders will be on the course at a time for up to 30 mins each. A rider's start time will be recorded and you are required to report back to the start box within 30 minutes.
Riders using the XC course are required to wear an approved body protector, helmet, medical armband and long-sleeved shirt.

STABLES
Stables are available for this event – free for Gidge club members and $30 for non-members – on a first-come, first-served basis (cash is preferred). Anyone using a stable (including Gidge club members) are required to pay a $20 bond which is refundable if the stable is left clean after you’ve finished with it. Everyone using a stable (including club members) need to follow these steps:
SCRATCHINGS AND REFUNDS
Where possible, please update any changes/scratchings before the close of entries in Nominate. All scratchings prior to the start of the event or where a refund is being requested should be emailed to [email protected].
Scratchings after the close of entries will only be accepted with a veterinary or medical certificate. An administration fee may apply.
If you’re at the event and decide to scratch from a class, please also notify the office so we can let the marshalls know. A full refund will be given on presentation of a vet or doctors certificate.
WHAT TO WEAR
Neat and comfortable riding attire in good condition is suitable for the Training Day. Jackets and plaiting are not required. Specific uniform and discipline requirements are below:

The weather at the March Training Day can be unpredictable and can be warm. Please ensure your horse is well hydrated and had adequate forage throughout the day.
THE LAST WORD: MANURE AND HAY
MANURE AND SPILLED HAY/FEED IS THE PARTICIPANT'S RESPONSIBILITY. PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL MANURE AND SPILLED HAY/FEED IS PICKED UP AND PLACED ON THE PILES NEXT TO THE STABLE BLOCKS (NOT AROUND TREES).

- On arrival, find a stable, put a bucket or haynet in it to indicate it’s going to be used, make a note of the stable number on the wall.
- Visit the office (on the verandah) and let us know which stable you’d like and pay by cash or EFT (Cash is preferred for refunding purposes)
- Before you leave, clean your stable, take a photo of the stable including the stable number, bring the photo to the office and collect your refund.

- All riders MUST wear long sleeves, medical armbands and approved body protectors and helmets.
